An introduction to Vegetable Gardening
Vegetable gardens are usually associated with big yards in the outskirts of the city. Although a big yard has its advantages, vegetables can also be grown in compact beds and pots on terraces or boxes thus getting maximum yield from the smallest space available. Maintaining the fertility of the soil is important as most vegetable do well on well drained fertile soils that are slightly acidic with a Ph value of 6 to 7. Sunlight is another important factor. Leafy vegetables can do with a partial shade of sunlight but the fruit growing one’s need a proper focus of sunlight to blossom.
